We use "sample source" to group samples that came from the same animal (age, sex, etc.). Without the ability to view information from the sample source and the sample at the same time via grid view, we have to essentially re-enter sample source data (age, sex, species, etc.) for every individual sample, making the sample source not super useful for holding data.
