Track the number of an aliquot

If I create 50 aliquots, I want to know which aliquot is number 1, 2, 3, etc. of the same sample.

We need the aliquots to also be separate and traceable.

I really need this! My difficulty is that each aliquot needs to be unique for usages and tracking purposes, so I can't use the vial / aliquot templates features.
Unfortunately no votes available at the moment, but I will vote this idea up as soon as I get some back.
