We currently use the "required" option on user-defined fields to make some fields compulsory for sample entry. 

We use the "Sample Group" function to link a sample to a particular study/trial and like the functions associated with sample groups. However we cannot get this field to be compulsory so sometimes users forget to enter this information. 

Would it be possible to add the option of making this field mandatory?
