Currently users can either have full access to reports and audit functionality, or none at all.
Most of our users would benefit from having some access to use the reporting function and to see which samples were added by date/type/group, etc.
However, only administrators should have access to things like "Activity (Audit)" and "Browse Audit Log". Using these functions a user can see exactly what every other user has been doing and even see the information that other users have been entering which makes the data very insecure.
In FreezerPro 8 the 'Access Reports and Audit' right was re-worked. Now there is a 'View Full Audit Log' right. For users without this right, the 'Reports and Audit' tab becomes 'Reports', and includes reports on items the user has permissions to access.
It's true the 'Access Reports and Audit' is a powerful right. The team has been looking at ways to restrict the audit view while keeping a reasonable level of application performance. A re-design of the permissions system is planned for FreezerPro 8 that may improve performance enough to allow us to revisit this area.
Hello?
A comment from Brooks on this issue would be great
This is still urgent! Is it on the roadmap?
This needs implementing as a matter of urgency
